Historic Woodland Homes

The railroad arrived in Woodland in the late 1860's and the city quickly became a place where wealthy farmers became bankers and investors and built wonderful homes. The annual Stroll Through History draws people from all over the region and is a day full of walking tours and open house tours, not just of the residences but of all the historic buildings downtown.

The many fine historic Victorian era homes here range in style from Italianate, Queen Ann, Second Empire, and continue on into 20th century designs. You'll see California Bungalows, Brown Shingle Style, Craftsman homes, Prairie Style, Mission Revival, Tudor Revivals and French Cottage revival style homes. In a few short blocks there are also many fine examples of ranch homes and even modern-style homes.
